Conference 2019

Indonesia Council Open Conference 2019

In 2019, the Indonesia Council Open Conference will be hosted by the head of the Indonesia Institute, Professor Edward Aspinall, at the Australian National University, Canberra. from November 19-21.

Keynote speakers and a special postgraduate workshop, scheduled for November 19, will be announced closer to the date.

In keeping with tradition, ICOC does not have a registration fee. Please note, however, that as part of the registration process you will be able to pay a small charge to cover meals during the duration of the conference and to attend the conference dinner.

Please note that the conference organising committee can under no circumstances provide financial support for participation in the conference.

Paper and Panel Submissions

We invite the submission of panel and paper submissions by new and established scholars working on all aspects of Indonesia.

Submission of abstracts closes 1 June. Submit your panel and paper abstracts to this address: https://bit.ly/2UAIuaH

Sessions will run for 90 minutes.

We have a preference for submission of organised panels (maximum four papers + one discussant) but individual papers are also accepted, especially from postgraduate students. The panel chair should submit all material (including presenter details, paper titles and abstracts, for organised panels).

Outcomes will be advised by 1 July 2019, and registration for the conference and associated events will also be available at that time.
